Precision measurement

Narrow-linewidth lasers play a crucial role in fields such as precision ranging and surface profile inspection. Precilasers' frequency-stabilized lasers and swept-frequency lasers are well-suited for these high-precision optical detection scenarios.

Based on Michelson interferometers or Mach-Zehnder interferometers, narrow-linewidth frequency-stabilized lasers can be used for high-precision nanoscale displacement measurement. High-precision displacement changes can be measured by detecting interference signals. To achieve nm-level high-precision measurement, the laser wavelength must be extremely stable. Leveraging saturated absorption frequency stabilization or modulation transfer frequency stabilization technologies, Precilasers has launched narrow-linewidth frequency-stabilized lasers, which can achieve frequency stability and accuracy of <10⁻¹¹. The mode-hop-free characteristic of these lasers also makes them ideal for long-term continuous measurement in industrial settings. By locking the laser frequency to the absorption lines of atoms and molecules, the laser can output with long-term frequency stability, enabling its application in precision interferometric ranging.

Based on similar principles, or with Fizeau interferometers, narrow-linewidth lasers can also be used for high-precision surface profile inspection of precision optical components. Typically, inspection is achieved by moving the optical component or scanning the laser wavelength. The laser wavelength scanning method enables non-mechanical-motion detection, delivering higher precision and stability—thus, interferometers using laser wavelength scanning are gradually becoming the mainstream. This requires narrow-linewidth laser output while achieving a large-range linear scan. Precilasers' high-precision swept-frequency lasers can achieve continuous linear scanning of 200-300GHz at multiple wavelengths, with no mode hopping during scanning, providing high-quality light sources for high-precision surface profile inspection. Featuring continuous mode-hop-free scanning at multiple wavelengths, large scanning range, high precision, and high linearity, Precilasers' swept-frequency lasers are applicable in fields such as optical precision measurement and surface profile measurement.
